Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin music and easy to follow dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training, alternating fast and slow rhythms and resistance training. It is a fun way to work out.

Maria Lindberg Zumba!I got on the Zumba band wagon at the World Fitness Conference in 2006. I loved the philosophy of just have fun! Not to mention Beto, the zumba founder, is from Colombia and I am half Colombian. I started teaching dance in Mt. Vernon when I was 13. Went on to get a minor in Dance for Mt. Holyoke College, and I have not stopped dancing. I practice Zumba as well as Vinyasa Yoga whenever I can. I have taught all sorts of dance and fitness throughout the years…kickboxing, step, aerobics, high and low impact but love the Zumba Latin party energy.
